Pumpkin Fall Centerpiece Idea

Pumpkin Fall Centerpiece Idea

Fall is right around the corner, and what better way to usher in the season then by creating this lovely succulent pumpkin centerpiece. Not only is this centerpiece simple to assemble, but using faux succulents makes it easy to reuse this centerpiece for years to come. Whether you are hosting an upcoming event or simply want to beautify your home, today I’ll share how to create one of your own.

Supplies needed to make your own succulent pumpkin center

  • Carvable Pumpkin
  • Artificial Succulents
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Floral Foam
  • Chalk Paint in Everlasting
  • Spanish Moss
  • Foam Brush
  • Craft Knife

Step 1. You’ll trim the top of your faux pumpkin using a craft or kitchen knife.

You’ll want to make sure you create a big enough opening to showcase the lovely succulents while still maintaining the pumpkin shape.

Step 2. To complete the look of this succulent pumpkin centerpiece, I wanted something a little more understated than the bright orange pumpkin color so I decided to paint it with chalk paint. I knew it could easily be transformed with a beautiful new finish. It took two coats of chalk paint to get an opaque finish. Be sure to let it dry in between each coat of paint.

Step 3. When the paint is dry, you can add in your floral foam to the inside of the pumpkin. You may need to trim or add extra pieces of foam as needed.

Step 4. Use hot glue to secure moss around the outer edge of the pumpkin. This helps hide the rough edge and also adds a little texture and dimension to the piece.

Step 5. Now it’s time to add in the succulents. Start with the largest succulent and work around by adding in different styles of succulent picks to fill out the arrangement. The different styles and heights add some fun variety and interest to the centerpiece.

That’s it! Now you have a lovely fall succulent pumpkin centerpiece that would be perfect for any occasion.

I could imagine these gracing the tables at weddings, dinner parties, or even on a console table or mantle.
