Before we get the the patterns I wanted to share some recent news on baby Yoda crochet patterns. If you haven´t heard the story about Alison Hoffman and the baby Yoda pattern, let me fill you in. Basically Alison Hoffman from Crafty is cool released a baby Yoda Crochet Pattern for sale on Etsy. It was cute, it was cuddly and everyone wanted it. In a matter of days she sold hundreds, that is until she receive a legal notice from Disney itself claiming she had violated copy write laws and were threatening legal action if she did not stop selling the pattern. She instantly took the pattern down from her shop and it is no longer available in the public domain.
Whilst the baby yoda is incredibly cute, if you are looking for crafts to make and sell, this probably is not the best option, you wouldn´t want to be targeted by Disney if they see you are profiting from a design they have worked hard to make famous. Many people have got around this by naming their creation a baby alien instead, or simply offering their designs for free in order to gain an e-mail subscriber to promote a selection of other products they may have.

The following tutorial on youtube is very similar to the original pattern. You will need the chosen green coloured yarn for the body, in the video they have chosen an aquamarine green, but you could go for more of a lime green if you preferred, you will need two units of this color. You will also need a brown or honey maple colour yarn for the jacket and a chunky beige yarn for the scarf. Hoks size needed are a 5.mm hook for all of the body, arm ears and eyes and a 6.5mm hook for the aliens robe.
